The ACT Seniors Card program continues to offer seniors great discounts on goods and services from local and interstate businesses, and ACT Government concessions.
Canberra has one of the fastest growing populations of people aged 65 years and over in Australia and this growth is set to continue. The ACT Government is committed to keeping Canberra a place where seniors love living and feel valued.
In March 2019, I released the Government’s vision for an Age-Friendly Canberra, which you can access at www.communityservices.act.gov.au or obtain a copy from the Community Services Directorate.
The Government is currently consulting with older Canberrans, service providers and advocacy groups to develop a new Age-Friendly City Action Plan. This plan will be available in the first half of 2020 and will realise this vision and make our city an even better place for seniors.
There are already great initiatives in place to support older Canberrans including the ACT Seniors Card program, managed on the Government’s behalf by the Council on the Ageing (COTA) ACT.
I commend COTA ACT for its long-term work to deliver the ACT Seniors Card program and for producing this valuable Directory.
I encourage all Seniors Card holders to take advantage of the discounts listed. In doing so, you will not only reduce your costs but also make use of goods and services available in Canberra and our broader region - contributing to Canberra being a great place to live.
I would also like to acknowledge the generosity and support of those businesses and organisations that feature in this Directory, offering discounts and valuable consumer information.
Welcome to the 2019-2021 ACT Seniors Card Discount Directory.
